Stander for ASTM A350-LF1

ASTM A350 Grade LF1 is a special material for carbon steels and forgings, needed to measure the weight of pipes. This includes forged flanges, fittings, valves and similar forged and machined parts. This specification includes requirements such as chemical composition, mechanical properties and parameters related to competitive durability. Ferrobend stocks, manufactures and supplies forgings, flanges, piping, valves and similar pipe components in tensile class 1 and class 2 of ASTM A350 Grade LF1 specification.

Standard Specification for Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel Forgings, Requiring Notch Toughness Testing for Piping Components

GRADE LF1
Carbon, max 0.3
Manganese, max 0.60-1.35
Sulfur, max 0.040
Sillcon 0.15-0.30
Nickel 0.40 max
Chromium 0.30 max
Molybdenum 0.12 max
Copper 0.40 max
Columbium 0.02 max
Vanadium 0.05 max
Nitrogen …

Note:
A: When vacuum carbon deoxidation is required by Additional Requirements S4, the silicon content must be 0.12% maximum.
B: The amount of copper, nickel, chromium, vanadium and molybdenum should not exceed 1.00% of the heat test.
C: The amount of chromium and molybdenum should not exceed 0.32% of temperature.
D: By agreement, the limit for columbia can be increased to 0.05% of the heat test and 0.06% of the product analysis.

Heat treatment
1: After hot working and before reheating for heat treatment, the forging must be allowed to cool in the transformation range.
2: Forgings of grades other than Grade LF787 shall be placed in the normalized, or in the normalized and tempered, or in the quenched and tempered condition described by the following process:
2.1: Normalize – Heat to a temperature that produces an austenite structure, hold for a sufficient time to maintain a normal temperature throughout. Cool uniformly in still air.
2.2: Normalize and Temper-After normalizing, reheat to 1100°F [590°C] minimum, hold at minimum temperature of 30 min/in. [30 min / 25 mm] maximum, but not less than 30 min. Chill in the air.
2.3: Quenching and tempering – The process for quenching should include (1) fully austenitizing the forging followed by quenching in a suitable liquid medium or (2) using a multi-stage quenching standard that the forging is first fully austenitized and rapidly cooled, then reheated to partially reaustenify, followed by quenching in a suitable liquid medium. All quenched forgings must be tempered by reheating
